There aren’t “both sides” to slavery, lynching, or Jim Crow. That’s not nuance, it’s whitewashing.

It’s bizarre how badly these people want to take the US 🇺🇸 back to the 50’s. Literally, if they could, they would. African American studies will always scare the hell out of them bc you can’t teach it and NOT include the original sin of SLAVERY. Germany accepted Holocaust.

It’s amazing the walk that Congress people have to take these cabinet members on, just to get them to to state the common sense response, the obvious to the rest of us.

African, Middle East, and Chinese studies belong in history, not DEI, when taught with balanced facts. "Both sides" of African American history risks oversimplifying complex truths—focus on evidence, not forced binaries. You enjoyed my daily news update

If white history isn’t DEI then African American history isn’t DEI. Thorough out the years, we definitely didn’t get the other side when we were only taught about white history. Then we don’t need to do that with African, Middle East and Chinese studies!!!

The "other side" of Afro Am studies is what we, white americans, grow up with. This is like saying "if you are going to teach french to US college students, you need to teach remedial english at the same time". I am a white dude and this "other side" is offensive to me
