I think while Eggman would like Sonic dead, he also doesn’t in a way. As much as he likes the catch, he also enjoys the chase. Sonic is one of the few people to actually give him attention, which Eggman wants more than anything. Their dynamic is similar to Lupin and Zenigata.

Police were called, and after a bunch of drama, as expected, the trash was taken out. 2 of the 3 he peaked at were minors, so I hope the penalty is heavy!!
