This is all true - but I suspect their business works a lot like commercial gyms Sell a customer on a contract that gives them X amount of use, then rely on them not actually using it If everyone who had a gym membership showed up every day, they wouldn't have space for them But because most people end up coming in once a week, once a month, or not at all, it works. And they can still serve the gym rat that's in there 5-6 times a week week AI looks like the same deal to me. It totally relies on casuals to cover for power users to make it work

I'm going to guess but not everyone uses AI to it fullest (what they pay for). Example: you pay for Netflix but for a month you don't watch anything, you still paid but never used the service, I'm guessing that's the same in this situation.

Explaining AI in 2026 to normal people sounds like financial fan fiction. “Yeah, this model costs this much, that one is cheaper per million tokens, another company is burning money on compute, and somehow everything gets better every few months.” At some point my friends stop asking questions and just nod.
