Special moment for me last night wrapping up the regular season. I had my first linebacker coach come to the last game of the season. This game being special because it was the first place I took a snap as a linebacker in 2020 (yes, I’ve only been playing this position for a legit 4 years ). Anyways, it was this man that told me at one of my lowest points I would get drafted and play in this league. And all he asked for was a signed jersey. All-way love, coach. There is something about the very first TMNT movie from 1990 that still gets me excited to this day. The way the turtles looked, the film colour grading and of course the amazing music by composer John Du Prez. The start of the movie is still one of my favourite scenes of all time and a lot of that is because of the soundtrack. I can still remember my mom taking me to see it, she worked at a large retail clothing company in Cape Town and her work got her early sneak preview tickets. I didn’t believe her when she told me it was a proper ‘real life’ ninja turtles film. It was only once I started watching it that I realised it was an actual movie and I will never forget the excitement when I first saw Raphael’s eyes looking out from the sewer. What a magical memory it was, I would love to know your first turtles movie experience 🐢 Anyway, I recreated the intro music with some modern synthwave flavour ✨ #tmnt #ninjaturtles #nostalgia

There was one 11 year old in particular that was hanging out with me and telling me in a very confident but not cocky way that he was the one and I had to watch him. It was Darius Acuff Jr, who will be a lottery pick in tonight's 2026 NBA Draft. Even back then, I had a feeling he was right and I'm glad I listened.
