Me ranting about how people aren’t properly digesting art lately

People want to engage with fandoms and the things outside of the actual piece of art but i would actually argue that this isn't even a late phenomenon. I've been into touhou since 2011 and even back then you had a ton of people who didn't play the actual shmups.

Yea people really just wanna check things off their list instead of being fully immersed in the experience. Its sad imo I can understand it for low stakes content like little Tik Tok videos but for detailed, high effort art. I don’t like it
