Uzbek School Prevents Hijabi Students From Entering School Hijabi Muslim students at School No. 16 in the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan are reportedly facing unlawful restrictions and discrimination. According to parents, the school’s principle has prohibited girls in Hijabs from entering the school premises. Despite parental intervention, students were still denied access until news spread of the regional governor’s planned visit, at which point they were temporarily allowed to enter. Parents further claim that on a daily basis, girls wearing hijabs are being removed from classes and subjected to baseless comments and discriminatory treatment.
