The water physics from Sea of Thieves (2018) were great too.

Assassin's Creed's water "physics" is not physics, it's just an animated texture.

I'd like to remind that we missed out on another amazing singleplayer game in the Arkham universe by Rocksteady for this:

The difference here is that in Batman you can’t get in, they had the ability to make it look like that because they didn’t have to worry about how the water will affect the player. And it’s in the middle of a rainstorm, so the weather makes sense

Something tells me that's not based on the physics process directly. By that I mean I doubt Arkham Knight is using actual physics but rather is using a mesh animation with other properties to give the illusion. Then again 3D graphics is nothing but illusions.

That's not water physics, the fuck you talking about? You don't even interact with it, that's just a pretty water shader and model. Ubisoft is king in water physics since Black Flag.

When we shame this game people like to assume our reasons behind it, but realistically we’re just doing what they’re too afraid to do. Can’t keep letting these big game corps get away with this copy and paste bullshit then putting a large price tag on it.
