During an emergency session of the Organization of American States, U.S. ambassador Leandro Rizzuto attempted to frame the U.S. attack on Caracas and kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as an “enforcement” action in the name of democracy and human rights. As he spoke, Medea Benjamin of CODEPINK and other activists disrupted the session to denounce the intervention as an illegal oil grab, demanding the release of Maduro and the lifting of sanctions.
