Media Thread 2025!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Last year below!)

1) Dark Souls III (+ DLC's) I understand even more why people like this game franchise. The gameplay loop is addicting and its bosses are mostly fun and satisfying to beat. Especially the endbosses for the dlc's and base game. Never knew three phase bosses existed lol.

2) Ichi the Killer Freaks fight to see who can be the freakiest out of all of them.

3) Mullet Madjack Short and fun. Creator actually knows what he's referencing and the story is pretty fire for its length.

4) Versus (2000) Craziest action I've ever seen like I swear I've never seen some of the moves those guys pulled off before. Also the end is crazy and I wish they showed more of that fight.

5) Muv-Luv Alternative (VN) I honestly think Takeru's development in Alternative is some of the greatest I've ever seen. The journey from Extra to this is such a crazy ride and it was worth reading it all. There's so much more I wanna say so I did on the same site as last time.

6) Elden Ring Gameplay wise its honestly some of the most fun I've had in souls type games. When it comes to the map design however there's just too many open areas with nothing in it. Not to say its all bad but I just wish there was more hidden stuff tbh.

7) Muv-Luv Unlimited: The Day After - Episode 00 Good start to the TDA series. I liked most of the characters and I wish I got to see more of them. Nonetheless it sets up Episode 01 well so I cant wait to see what they have there.

8) Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree SotE really doesn't pull its punches. The final boss was probably one of the toughest fights I ever fought. Most of the bosses in that dlc were really good though and the new area has some cool stuff to find.

9) Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Learning this game was tough but VERY worth it. The way the combat is designed is so fucking good and almost every boss in this game is so fun to learn and beat. Honestly as of the more recent fromsoft games I played this is hands down the best.

10) Muv-Luv Unlimited: The Day After - Episode 01-03 Good story that kinda fills in the gap between Unlimited and Alternative. Any problems I have with this vn are automatically resolved cause they gave Takeru the hardest design and mech ever made.

11) Wingman (2024) Kenta Hirono is just like me

12) Mobile Suit Victory Gundam Although this anime is very bleak, I think there's a lot to learn from it. Much having to do with what Zanscare does (especially looking at the first half). Even so, its still a hopeful show in the end and something I couldn't recommend enough.

13) Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Def the weakest game in the trilogy but its by no means a bad game. I like the improvements to the combat and adp isnt bad since you end up with twice the levels in this game than ds1/3. The DLC bosses are the best part of the game tho

14) Aquarion I swear Kawamori thought of anything and everything to put in this show. Honestly though as a motw super robot show every episode was really fun and I think episode 19 is one of the most unique anime episodes I have ever watched. Def looking forward to what's next.

15) Great Dangaioh This show is very strange, Its connection to the original dangaioh makes sense but I wish it was a direct sequel instead of baiting us with a singular character. Also the fact that the real G Dangaioh was introduced in the end and they sequel baited is crazy.

16) Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- I couldn't be more excited for this anime to come out. The way it shows how the one year war is altered to make it like this is really cool. The music and the visuals are amazing to look at and 3 episodes just isnt enough I WANT MORE.

17) Robotics;Notes (anime) While it REALLY shouldn't be a replacement for the visual novel, this anime really is one of the better SciAdv adaptations. It needed some more episodes and did skip over a little but its a good anime to watch if you wanna refresh yourself on R;N.

18) Steins;Gate 0 Its actually so crazy they were able to adapt this vn and adapt it well into a linear structure. More vn adaptations should learn from this one cause I was wrong in thinking the original Steins;Gate is the best vn adaptation, cause 0 blows it out of the water.

19) CHAOS;CHILD: Silent Sky (anime) Not anywhere near as good as the vn but a decent adaptation. Anyways, Never watch the anime and play the vn cause its peak.

20) Bakemonogatari One of the most uniquely directed anime I've seen, Shaft really doesn't miss with visuals. Every arc was something unique and didn't overstay its welcome at all. Great start to the series and the fact people say it gets better is something I look forward to

21) Nisemonogatari While not as good as Bakemonogatari I do fw the new characters and the last episode was pretty sick to see. Also the openings are fire.

22) Nekomonogatari Black Araragi gets the coolest sword ever and uses it in a way I have never seen anyone use a sword ever.

23) Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny I have way less problems with it then I originally thought I would. My biggest problem is the pacing. Like Seed, there's just a lot of nothing fights in the midsection that really don't go anywhere. But its better than I thought it would be.

24) Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM Honestly the peak of the Cosmic Era. I love the new mech designs and the animation was incredible (the 2D cuts were gorgeous). Also wraps up a lot of characters nicely and really redeemed Kira's character for me.

25) Monogatari Series Second Season I understand why people say this is the peak of the franchise, every arc is amazing and Koimonogatari is probably the best arc I've seen so far (and will probably stay that way after I watch everything else) Anyways, Kaiki is the GOAT.

26) Hanamonogatari Great followup to second season and amazing closure to the whole monkeys paw situation Kanbaru had.

27) Tsukimonogatari Decent start to third season, I really like the emphasis of this being the start of the end of Araragi's story. Also Koyasu jumpscare outta nowhere.

28) Owarimonogatari Honestly right next to second season as one of my favorite mono shows. Everything Sodachi related was so good and Shinobu Mail was an amazing followup to Onimonogatari.

29) Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu VERY surprised at the direction this movie took. Though its still clearly mono its definitely a lot different, the visuals are amazing though. Owarimonogatari is definitely a great setup to this, glad I watched in release order.

30) Kizumonogatari Part 2: Nekketsu Still absolutely blown away by the visuals. The way shaft uses rotoscoping and CGI is crazy. I feel there was a lot cut from this movie though, there were moments that felt pretty short. Sadly this movie only has a 1 hour run time to work with

31) Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu A great ending to an excellent trilogy, finally finding out how Araragi and Shinobu are the way they are in the show was great. The way everything was presented was so unique, I dont think I'll forget these movies any time soon at least.

32) Koyomimonogatari Short collection of good stories spanning across the show with the most insane final episode ever. What are they COOKING.

33) Owarimonogatari Second Season Saving others is great but don't forget to save yourself too. The most Araragi focused season we got in a long time and has probably one of the greatest finale's I've seen. Owari second season might be my favorite mono season now tbh.

34) Zoku Owarimonogatari Showing the 20% we don't usually see. Great after story showing the regrets and what ifs of Araragi and everyone. Honestly I'd be fine if the anime ended here but Shaft will animate mono for the next 100 million years so hey keep it coming.

35) Super Robot Taisen OG: Original Generations Great story, fun gameplay and awesome robots. For my first srw game it was a great experience. OG really wants to empty my wallet though cause now I want a model kit for every single mech I've seen in it.

36) Muteki Choujin Zambot 3 Don't judge a book by its cover. Tomino's first work starts off with a bang. Though its def not his best work, I think it sets up a lot of stuff he will do in the future. The back half hits hard and the ending hits even harder. What a great ride.

37) Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse A good entry in the franchise. Though I really dont have much to say, seeing how Muv-Luv would handle a kind of cyber newtype plotline is interesting. Anyways the Shiranui Second Phase 2 rollout color is peak and I need this mech NOW.

38) Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX I had my concerns but in the end Tsurumaki really delivered. This show was just fun and the final episode was great. Other than that, the designs, ost and animation were all very good. All I could wish for now is a sequel (copium)

39) Mobile Suit Gundam Seed C.E.73: Stargazer Really cool OVA and def better than I thought it would be. Neat to see a protagonist from Blue Cosmos this time, especially considering what that faction does. Wish there was more, but what we got was really solid.

40) Muteki Koujin Daitarn 3 A really fun episodic mecha show. Banjou Haran is a pretty interesting main character and the way it ended makes me want to see more, I want to know what happens next. I understand what tomino was going for, but more should have been shown on screen.

41) Mobile Suit Gundam Finally finished it after watching the comp movies a long time ago (I know, my bad) A very strong start to an amazing franchise, every episode was great and the more I watched the more I was upset at myself for not seeing everything this show had to offer.

42) Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children Reading this confirms that the movie would have been better without the banrise interference. Especially with how Hathaway was handled and the dialogue at the end.

43) Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash A very tragic but amazing follow-up to CCA. I really can’t say too much without diving into spoilers but the last novel was an amazing conclusion and it might end up being one of my favorites. Anyways, FUCK THE FEDERATION!

44) War of the Worlds (2025) This is the greatest movie ever made

45) Dogengers Short and fun tokusatsu parody. There isn't too much to it but the amount of gags they can pull with toku suits is very fun to watch.

46) Blue Gale Xabungle Xabungle is weird and wacky in the best way possible and its more serious scenes still hit very hard even for how unserious the show is constantly. I understand why Xabungle is as influential as it is and its def worth the watch.

47) Kamen Rider Gavv THE ABSOLUTE BEST REIWA RIDER SEASON (for right now) I really cant think of anything they did wrong. The three main riders were all amazing and the side cast was great too. The forms were all unique and the story was great the entire time. Ill miss this show

48) Aura Battler Dunbine Probably one of Tomino's strongest works. Every episode is beautifully animated and it definitely has one of my favorite casts too. "It is for that reason, I shall relate to you, the tale of Byston Well, as the Mi Ferario tell it."

49) Seisenshi Dunbine: New Story of AURA BATTLER Dunbine Shot Weapon: I have GOT to kill myself (and my audience with seizures)

50) Fafner in the Azure: Dead Aggressor Amazing start to the series, I look forward to seeing the rest.

51) Fafner: Heaven and Earth Great followup movie. The animation and art in this was incredible looking. Seeing the growth between the festum and people, I really wonder whats next for them all. Also the ending of this movie makes me really excited for Exodus.

52) Soukyuu no Fafner: RIGHT OF LEFT - single program I like Ryou Masaoka a lot, he deserves so much better. Great prequel, I saw that ending coming but it still hit me hard...

53) Panzer World Galient If you want a very straightforward high fantasy mecha plot then this is it. The designs and animation are incredible and I absolutely love the Galient. The ending was a little rushed however, it should have had more episodes. (Also Azubes is the goat)

54) Panzer World Galient OVA (The Crest of Iron) Very interesting au story. Wish it was longer but what we got was cool. The redesigns of all the characters and the Galient are unique. Most of it is just silent fighting though, not to say I didnt enjoy it.

55) Armor Hunter Mellowlink The best Votoms OVA I've seen so far. The whole concept of someone fighting mechs with a big ass gun alone is sick as hell and Mellowlink's whole revenge story is really interesting. Especially the lengths he goes to get it.

56) Armored Trooper Votoms: Case; Irvine A decent and short OVA with REALLY GOOD 2D mechanical animation. Feels like the story is about to really start when it ends which is sad to know theres nothing after.

57) Armored Trooper Votoms: Votoms Finder Unique looking designs, Unique looking characters, Unique looking world. All for nothing. It really has nothing going on and is kinda just a nothing OVA in general.

58) Fight!! Iczer-1 They be putting these girls through so much that every time something even remotely hopeful happens I already know something insane is about to go down soon.

59) The Super Dimension Fortress Macross II: Lovers Again Good sequel to DYRL but not as really impactful. I think the marduk are very interesting villains. Honestly just wish there was more to it.

60) Macross 7 Cranks everything the previous entries did up to 11. Macross 7 understands how crazy you can make the power of music go and plays it in the most serious way it possibly can. And I loved every single moment of it.

61) Macross 7 Encore They made DYRL again

62) Macross 7: The Galaxy is Calling Me! Definitely the best looking Macross 7 thing out there. I LOVE giant women.

63) Macross Dynamite 7 Basara just be doing shit why is his ass singing to whales.

64) Macross Zero Great Prequel and makes me love Roy Focker even more. The cgi is extremely well done and I just love the vibe of it in general. Its also funny how it connects to Frontier.

65) Fafner Exodus An amazing follow up to an already great anime. The cast being split through the entire story and having a lack of communication between them made for some really interesting moments throughout. Even through everything, the Island and its people still remain.

66) Macross Fb7 Listen to My Song! My apologies Gavil I aint know you were built like that now.

67) Fafner THE BEYOND Fafner THE BEYOND built off of Exodus in the best way possible (especially with what it did with Soushi) Its a great ending to the series and its all I could ask for from an exodus sequel. Also all the new mech designs are really cool and I need ALL of them

68) Fafner: BEHIND THE LINE Can we get like 800 million more of these I need to see every character live a good life and be happy for the rest of time.

69) Macross Delta Great show, the way it expands on protoculture is really interesting to me. I loved the music in it and the characters were all great. However I feel like there should be a bit more, I guess Ill see when I watch Zettai Live.

70) Macross Δ Special My apologies Bogue I aint know you were built like that now.

71) Macross Delta: Passionate Walküre Although it was very condensed the way they rearranged events and scenes is very interesting to me. Really only works if you watched the show beforehand but its a great time if you have.

72) Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!! They didnt have to do that to me man they didnt have to fuck me up like that with that ending FUCK AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Seeing Max and Exsedol again was cool tho

73) There Is No True Peace in This World: Shin Kamen Rider -SHOCKER SIDE- The fact that this isn't just a prequel but also an adaptation of the movie as well is crazy to me. I honestly think its better than the movie cause of that.

74) BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! I will admit I haven't watched a lot of band anime in my life but damn this show had me hooked from the very beginning (to the point I binged it all in one sitting). Seeing the rocky progression of the band as they learn to play together was great.

75) Ave Mujica - The Die is Cast - And once again its all the fault of the rich man FUCK SADAHARU TOGAWA

76) Patlabor the Mobile Police Probably one of the best episodic format shows I've seen. Every episode was really fun and it never felt slow to me Also its probably one of the best looking shows in this format. I've seen barely any animation reuse and the show itself looks great

77) Aquarion EVOL This show starts off in one of the strangest ways possible and STILL somehow manages to connect and finish the original Aquarion in a great and meaningful way. What an absolutely phenomenal ending. "And now, love is permitted once more!"

78) Mobile Police Patlabor: The New Files Finishes what the show started and then some. Its more of the same great stuff that made the show great. I'm really excited for PATLABOR EZY now though.

79) MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER Season Me summoning my clones but they somehow all hate me
