Meet Abdul Waheed Sheikh, an Ex-Army man, now running a prison called Avicenna Medical College who came up with grotesque punishment concepts like “pink-lists”, shaving heads, cutting clothes, protecting sexual harassers. Concern after being exposed is always hollow.

If anything, this man should be removed from heading an entire college and inventing archaic, cruel ways to “punish” undergrads. Whoever thinks that he’ll take a better course after this, is extremely mistaken. Not removing him means letting him victimise those who protested.

He’s threatening that those who gave interviews to the media, will be fined 200k. A lot of belief he seems to have either in his ex-position or the complacency of the parents who’ll keep sending kids.

@_SophieSchol Ex Army man was court-martialed from the military.

@_SophieSchol Good to see students standing up for themselves

@_SophieSchol یہ بدمعاشی ہورہی ہے تو یہ طلبہ اور ان کے والدین کیسے برداشت کر رہے ہیں ؟ یہ سب لاہور میں ہو رہا ہے ؟

@_SophieSchol Retired military officers running civilian institutions often cause shit shows, probably cuz they take too much time to understand that civilian institutions are not their cantonments

@_SophieSchol We had one ret service man in our uni, he truely belonged to some Middle Age era. The closest they should ever be allowed to an educational inst is the is the guard's quarter

@_SophieSchol That’s so scary! I hope those undergrads are ok

@_SophieSchol Pakistan needs to overhaul its education system massively. Even in Karachi, I remember some A level school intentionally screwing over its students becaude the admin wanted to make money. And thats besides the sexual and physical abuse in madrassahs.
