Meet $LITKEY, the Lit Protocol network token 🧵

Lit Protocol provides developers with critical infrastructure for building secure, programmable, and composable applications via a decentralized key management and compute network. Whether you’re working on AI agents, user wallets, chain abstraction, data marketplaces, identity apps, or beyond, Lit provides foundational infrastructure for realizing the user-controlled web.

The mainnet beta network securing over $100 million in crypto assets, millions of encrypted data points, and processing millions of signing, decryption, and compute requests each month. The introduction of $LITKEY represents the latest milestone. The token will play a multi-faceted role in the ecosystem, used to secure the network through staking and delegation, pay for the signing, encryption and compute services provided by the network, and govern the protocol’s future development.

$LITKEY will initially be distributed by way of token sales as well as an airdrop to early adopters, ecosystem builders, testnet node operators, Ciphernaut Path participants, and other users based on various eligibility criteria.

The $LITKEY launch will precede Lit’s v1 Mainnet.
