Our first Education Minister, Maulana Azad, had no real connection to our land. His ancestors actually came from Afghanistan with the invader Babur. He didn't even have a formal education and only studied in Madrasas. On top of that, he ran radical Islam!c weeklies like Al-Hilal and Al-Blagh. Congress made him the Education Minister for 11 years just to play politics against Jinnah. This is exactly why our history and education were kept away from our true Indian roots for so long.
