The Great Grey Owl (Strix nebulosa) is the largest owl in North America by length, though much of its size is due to its fluffy feathers. Found in boreal forests across the Northern Hemisphere, it's known for its keen hearing, which allows it to detect prey under snow. Great Grey Owls are often called 'phantoms of the north' due to their elusive nature. They primarily hunt small rodents, using their facial discs to funnel sound. Despite their size, they weigh less than other large owls, like the Snowy Owl, due to their light, airy plumage.

They seem so huge, but it’s mostly fluff 😆

Shadow is stunning! Great Grey Owls are already majestic creatures, and Shadow's piercing gaze makes them even more captivating!...
