For 60 Minutes, Anderson Cooper went diving with wild Nile crocodiles, a shoot he now calls crazy and dumb. Nile crocodiles are the most deadly and dangerous species of crocodile. They can grow up to 20 feet long, weigh as much as a car, and bite as hard as a T. rex. In 2013, Anderson Cooper traveled to Botswana’s Okavango Delta and jumped into the water with them. “At the time, they didn't seem so dumb. And it's only now, in retrospect, I kind of look back like, I went diving with Nile crocodiles, which I don't think is really a thing,” Cooper said, reflecting on the report. Years later, Cooper interviewed crocodile expert Robert Irwin, son of “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin. “He was like, ‘This is not a thing, mate. No. It's not a thing,’” And not only he was like, ‘The crocodiles could kill you,’” said Cooper. “He was like, ‘If you ran into a hippopotamus underwater, they would've killed you.’ No one mentioned the hippos. Yeah. No one mentioned hippos at all.”

Footage from 1936 shows the tallest man to ever live, Robert Wadlow. Robert passed away in July 1940 due to complications from a faulty leg brace that caused irritation and infection in his ankle. Despite receiving treatment including a blood transfusion and surgery, his condition deteriorated further due to an autoimmune disease. He passed away in his sleep on July 15. At the time of his death he measured 8 ft 11.1 in tall. His coffin was 10 feet 9 inches long and weighed over 1,000 pounds. It required twelve pallbearers and eight assistants for transportation.

NEW: Police airlift a crocodile with the body of a 59-year-old businessman inside. Local police in South Africa say they suspected the crocodile ate the man after observing it from drones. They then shot it and airlifted it off. When they landed back on the ground, the crocodile was sliced open, and human remains were found. The remains are believed to be those of 59-year-old Gabriel Batista, who had previously been swept away in raging floodwaters. His ring was found inside the animal along with six other pairs of shoes, which authorities fear may belong to other victims. On Monday, Batista reportedly tried to drive over a flooded bridge to reach his hotel and bar, but he and his truck were swept into the water. He was then swept down the river, where crocodiles were waiting for prey. It is unclear if Batista was already deceased when he was eaten, but authorities believe some of his other remains may have been eaten by other crocodiles.

No creature born for rivers and sun should spend its life in a concrete room. This American crocodile was taken from his natural world and brought to Myślibórz, Poland nearly 20 years ago. For two decades he has lived in a tiny enclosure, far from the waters and climate he was meant for. I am prepared to personally cover the full cost to relocate him safely to Mexico, USA or to a certified crocodile sanctuary where he can live with dignity. Let’s give his God given Freedom back. Setting him free would be a powerful act of humanity.
