Below is my full speech, as we gathered at World Health Organization (WHO) to honour our colleagues, who lost their lives, with a minute of silence: Dear colleagues, Today, we gather with heavy hearts to remember and honor our dear UN colleagues who tragically lost their lives in #Gaza. Their unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and bravery will forever be etched in our memories. These dedicated individuals embodied the spirit of the United Nations, standing on the frontlines of conflict zones to provide much-needed humanitarian assistance and support. They put their lives on the line to bring hope and relief to those affected by violence and despair. Their memory and the impact they made will forever remain. Their unwavering dedication to peace, justice, and the well-being of others serves as a guiding light and a reminder of the importance of our shared mission. In the face of immense challenges and danger, they remained steadfast in their commitment to make a difference in the lives of those they served. Their courage and selflessness touched the lives of countless individuals and communities. Today, we honor their memory and recommit ourselves to the pursuit of peace, justice, and the well-being of all people. San Francisco’s economy is recovering, and people want to be here again. As we continue to build that momentum, we need to make sure that San Franciscans feel the benefits and can continue to raise their kids in this incredible city. We need to build housing, we need to create jobs, and we need to keep bringing people back downtown, our front door to the world and the economic engine for our city. That’s why today I am proud to announce the BUILD Act with Supervisor Bilal Mahmood—a legislative package that will unlock stalled housing projects and create thousands of good union jobs. The BUILD Act will reform the transfer tax to incentivize investment in these housing projects and buildings downtown—stimulating new jobs for electricians, plumbers, and laborers. And we will put forward a ballot measure in November to ensure that transfer tax is paid on properties in foreclosure so we can offset revenue impacts. Our politicians used to take our workers and our families for granted. But those politicians are gone, and those days are over. We are now creating the conditions for our city’s success. By passing the BUILD Act, we will take the next step, creating the jobs and building the housing that San Franciscans deserve.

We even used a variety of practical effects in the film, which was a lot of fun to do. We had a brilliant time making this film and learnt a huge amount while studying the masters of the 60s and 70s. If you’ve been following the release of The Mountain, you know how special and meaningful this project is. We’re so proud to be a part of it and want to say a massive thank you to Jamie and Eleven Management for trusting us to tell this beautiful story. We're excited to announce the launch of the Chainlink Reserve, a new upgrade centered on the creation of a strategic onchain reserve of LINK tokens. The Chainlink Reserve is designed to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the Chainlink Network by accumulating LINK tokens using offchain revenue from large enterprises that are adopting the Chainlink standard and from onchain service usage. The Chainlink Reserve is being built up by using Payment Abstraction to convert offchain and onchain revenue into LINK, using a combination of Chainlink services and decentralized exchange infrastructure. Demand for Chainlink has already created hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, substantially from large enterprises that have paid offchain for access to the Chainlink Platform. Inpher has been leading in the confidential AI space for many years, raising over $25M from J.P. Morgan and others. The Inpher team developed the most advanced protocols for confidential AI and federated learning over the span of eight years, publishing some of the most foundational research in the MPC space for efficient ML, real number arithmetic, confidential tensor operations and oblivious algorithms. Inpher has achieved prestigious projects in the defense, finance and healthcare sectors and is now part of Arcium. Our new Arcium team members are amazing engineers and researchers, who have spent many years solving some of the most complex problems in secure Multi-Party computation and confidential computing, performing foundational research at Harvard, Berkeley, EPFL, and other prestigious institutions. CZ says crypto is too transparent and lacks privacy Former Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) (CZ 🔶 BNB), has raised concerns about the current state of transparency in crypto. In a recent interview with TPBN, CZ argued that blockchain data combined with exchange KYC makes tracking funds extremely easy. According to CZ, most transactions can already be traced with high accuracy. He pointed out that payment flows can reveal sensitive information about individuals. In some cases, even salary structures can be inferred from transaction patterns. This raises concerns for both individuals and companies using crypto payments. Privacy, he suggests, remains an unsolved problem in the industry.

Dear Nigerians, "Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president." ~Theodore Roosevelt On this national scale, if the mass number of Nigerians are suffering, their lives and properties in jeopardy, it is okay to speak up, call a spade a spade and stop this gov from leading us astray. Now more than ever, we must unite. We must unite against the ruiners of Nigeria before they bury what is left of her. Organization is the first primary weapon of the oppressed. This is the only weapon we are yet to explore, and we can not explore this until we unite. The oppressed Nigerians must organize to form a force against the ruiners of Nigeria and take back our country to have a system that is for the benefit of the Nigerian people and not a few in the position of power. President will come and go, only the people will remain. Don't give those in power today to play politics with your future. Let's unite, not necessary as one but as a team. A team with different skills, languages culture, religion and tradition, but one CAUSE regardless of our tribal differences to stand against the common enemy who have now shown to be a curse on our very own existence as an amazing people of this great nation. ~OIA✊🏿

Big news! Today we are announcing that Shopify is acquiring the Threads team. There are a million feelings and thoughts from this journey, but nothing more than gratitude to all of our users and customers for building with us, my colleagues (both current and former) for making all of this possible, our investors, especially Mike Vernal, Elad Gil, Avichal Garg - Electric ϟ Capital, and Jessica Verrilli for their unwavering support and guidance, and all of our friends and family who put up with the late nights, canceled plans, and the general roller coaster that is startup life. To our customers and users who have been asking, here’s how we got here: The past several months have been some of the most interesting and intense of my life. It all started with the rise of Instagram Threads, which presented us with the opportunity to sell our domains. Around the same time, a handful of companies approached us, wondering if we would be open to an acquisition. When this happened in the past, we would politely decline. However, this time, things were different. We weren't that excited about the time it would take to invest in a rebrand, and with mind-warping technological advances now being a commodity, we were excited about joining a place where we could tinker at scale. Each company we chatted with was incredible. However, what ultimately led us to choose Shopify over others was their culture; two distinct things in particular: 1) Craft-obsessed. Their obsession with not just building the right thing, but also building it the right way is inspiring. Sacrifice shows priority, and hearing stories about some of the hard decisions they made to ensure that what they ship is robust, scalable, and trustworthy, even at the cost of short-term metric gains, really proved that their obsession with craft was much more than a feel-good slogan. Their discussions and decisions have me truly believing they're going to be around for 100 years. 2) For entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs. Just about every product and engineering leader I met was an ex-founder who grinded for years to turn nothing into something. They all still had that air of resilience, obsession with the details at every part of the stack, and a compelling vision of the future for whatever they were working on. Threads leadership is also made up of ex-founders, so the entrepreneurial focus at Shopify made it clear that it would be the best environment for us to grow and thrive. Very excited for this next chapter with the team and grateful for all of the support we’ve received over the years from those who believed in us. As always, thanks for (th) reading.
