Rice is right. There’s a reason why secure systems and chain-of-command protocols exist. Using a Signal group chat, instead of the embassy SCIF with the National Security Council, no less—to discuss sensitive national security matters isn’t just reckless, it’s an invitation to foreign intelligence. Because Steve Witkoff was in Moscow while receiving these messages, we should absolutely assume Russian surveillance captured them. This is a catastrophic failure of responsible governance—where loyalty and mediocrity replaced process and competence. No speculation! It’s a national security breach hiding in plain sight.

Not only did Trump’s team leak war plans in a group chat, but one of them was in Moscow while doing it. If a Democrat had done this, Fox News would be screaming TREASON 24/7.

People aren’t taking the “signal-gate” controversy seriously enough— mainly because no Americans got killed. But this mistake was egregious. And someone very well could have gotten hurt. And that “someone” could have been YOU. Or your family. Sharing sensitive national security information on a commercial app is stupid, illegal and extremely dangerous. It put the life of every single American potentially at risk. Had a sinister person been on that group chat — quietly collecting information for a few more days, weeks or even months— there is no telling what might have eventually happened. We got lucky that the information gotten dropped into the hands of a patriotic journalist. But in another scenario— given the nature of the information government officials were sharing on this app — Americans could have been rocked by a true disaster. The Trump administration’s actions could have impacted every single one of us.

A Ukrainian historian explains to a Russian that Ukrainians and Russians are not one people with a simple question: how was the Russian ethnic group formed? :) Because all the tribes from which Ukrainians originated — and which Russians have falsely claimed as their own — lived only on the territory of Ukraine, not Russia. Russians, on the other hand, began forming from the remnants of the Mongols after their empire collapsed, and they have absolutely no connection to Kyivan Rus.
