#SouthKivu: The coalition responsible for violence against Congolese civilians has struck again. At around 4:00 PM, a bomb hit the village of Lumbishi, killing five people and wounding 13 others, including women and children. ​The failed leadership in Kinshasa continues to inflict terror on innocent populations who were simply going about their daily lives, offering nothing but destruction. On Good Wednesday a sad news The forced marriage of a 17-year-old girl to a 63-year-old man in Afghanistan is a profound injustice and a grave violation of human rights. Let us take a moment to look at the root cause of how violence escalated from 3rd of May until now: 1. Fake&fabricated news about a meitei lady being raped in Churachandpur made the rounds on social media widely circulated which was later clarified by concerned authorities & the alleged victim’s parents that no such thing occurred. 2. Based on this information, tribal women in Imphal-meitei dominated localities were subjected to sexual&physical abuse and brutality. Meitei women the so called Imas/ #MeiraPaibis were seen encouraging their sons/boys to rape a tribal girl in broad daylight. They were seen actively participating in the lynching of Kuki-zo tribals. 3. Despite all these, the so called *#MeiraPaibis* declared the 3rd Nupilal so brazenly. The so called Mothers encouraging their sons to violate another women’s daughter has shown us how degraded the mentality of these meitei women are. 4. While calling out for peace in-front of national media houses, their so called activist Binalakshmi Nepram apparently forgot how in the name of #WomenEmpowerment her own womenfolk from her community colluded in sheltering & instigating violence against their fellow women. Double standard hypocrisy Alert. The very women that went wild & crazy thirsting for blood & weapon are now crying PEACE infront of outsiders is a staged act hidden with vicious malice. 5. We cannot trust women that demanded the violation of another women’s precious daughter & took part in their lynching. The Tates pride themselves on women throwing themselves at them and doing whatever they want. The Tates like women to be their slaves, whereas typical rapists get off on the violence through which they obtain sex. But what I know for a fact, by their own admission, is that they took young teenage girls as young as 15, maybe younger, turned them into prostitutes, and taught other men how to do the same. That’s why they should go to jail for a very long time.

Watching this video broke me. It brought back the painful memories of my childhood in Iran. I cried seeing that little girl bullied by her principal, forced to put on her compulsory veil over and over again, with no mercy. This isn’t just about a piece of cloth; it’s about how young girls, as early as 7, are subjected to control, humiliation, and abuse by those meant to protect them. For 40 years, we, the women of Iran, have lived this nightmare. When I started to share the stories of these girls living under the Islamic laws on “My Stealthy Freedom” and “ White Wednesdays” campaign against compulsory hijab, I was dismissed as Islamophobic in the West many times. But look closely at the fear in the girl’s face, the anger, the frustration. This is not a cultural issue, it’s apartheid against women. The regime believe that if a young girl doesn’t cover her hair, she could arouse men, an insult to men, too. I can not begin to imagine the trauma a girl goes through in such an ordeal, surrounded by boys who, instead of protecting or defending her dignity, stand aside and entertain this diabolic abomination. What then happens if she tries to defend herself? This is why the online space must be regulated. It is no wonder that this year's theme for the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV is: “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.” I am calling on the DCI KENYA to apprehend these boys immediately.
