Bugs Bunny was an integral part of my life when I was a kid. It was only when I got older that I recognized the campy innuendo in those cartoons. You can't find anything like that these days.

Mel Blanc was born on this day 115 years ago. He did the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, the Tasmanian Devil, Barney Rubble, and Captain Caveman... Among others. Here's a clip from an interview he did on Letterman in 1981.

Celebrating the 118th birthday of Mel Blanc today. Whoever made this compilation of Mel screaming in different cartoons is a saint.

Patrick Ball talks about Langdon seeing himself in Mel in a new interview with TV Insider: “She thinks a little bit different, moves a little bit different, doesn’t feel like the others and that is something that Langdon also feels and I think he feels a kindred spirit.”

How cool is this? In 1982, Mel Blanc went on the Today show where he was asked to go down the line with the main voices he contributed to Looney Tunes. This includes the voice of Elmer which he did a few times, but only when Arthur Q Bryan was not available or passed on.

Happy Birthday to the Man of a Thousand Voices... Mel Blanc! Hair-Raising Hare (1946) is my favourite Loony Tunes cartoon. Mel voicing Bugs Bunny, Gossamer (debut), and the mad scientist all in one cartoon.
