@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale I take it he doesn’t need to do this . What an insult to those over 50 who have worked all their lives 😡

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale Perhaps we should be like @NadineDorries & become MPs on £80k+ per year for doing absolutely nothing. With a boss like @RishiSunak we’d get away with it for at least 12 months…….

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale Most people who have retired in their 50s have done so through choice and with careful planning to make sure they can afford to. Others who have retired in their 50s are likely to have done so for health reasons so a part time job isn’t an option. What out of touch cobblers.

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale Perhaps that’s what all the tories who lose their seats at the next could do to maintain their lifestyle. Let’s face it, there will be loads of them, the absolute clowns.

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale There is more talk about the over 50's, than there are about 18-24 yrs olds, which for me is just wrong. Many of us have worked since 16, doing hard physical work. Then you factor in ill health, body breaking down, it's just not that simple for many of us.

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale Will Mr Stride be doing this next year when he loses his seat next year?

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale Nope. Husband & I retired early for a reason. We are living on a combination of work pension & savings (for hols) until we are old enough to claim State Pension & have ‘cut our cloth accordingly’.

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale He should target the younger unemployed and get them into work instead targeting over 50s or we will suffer a major skills shortage in the future because, sooner or later, us older people will no longer be able to work through either ill health or retirement

@Jacqui_Smith1 @IainDale Are they going to do the same? Of course not
