There is really something wrong with Melanie Joly Slagging the Big Three auto makers is a great way to get them to want to stay in Canada, right? It's one thing to praise the Japanese auto makers, but when asked about GM, Ford and Stellantis balking at the new EV regulations, Joly essentially says screw them "So at the core of this strategy is really to attract new auto makers to Canada." When asked if Canada has been sending arms to Israel, Mélanie Joly outrageously claimed that "there [have] been no weapons sent under my watch," and suggested that Canada is exporting only "non-lethal" military goods like night vision goggles and protective gear. In reality, Canada exported over $49M in military goods to Israel in the first two years that Joly became Foreign Affairs Minister, and she continues to approve arms exports despite the risk of genocide. The top categories of exports include 1) bombs, torpedoes, rockets, missiles, other explosive devices (and related components); 2) military aircraft and/or related components, and 3) military spacecraft and/or related components. If Canada is exporting weapons components to be integrated into a larger warplane, tank, or missile, that is no less "lethal"! Instead of defending its policy decisions, this government is misleading Canadians into thinking that we aren't exporting weapons. This is false. We demand that Joly impose an arms embargo now, so that Canada is no longer complicit in Israel's genocide. #ArmsEmbargoIsrael #StopArmingIsrael #GazaGenocide
