The journey of passion and resilience of Djed Spence with Spurs 🤍 Djed Spence’s arrival at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2022 wasn’t just a simple transfer for a promising young right-back from Nottingham Forest—it was the start of a complex, dramatic chapter inside our club. He arrived surrounded by high fan expectations, only to instantly hit a harsh reality when then-manager Antonio Conte publicly labeled him a "club signing," making it clear he wasn't his personal choice. That single statement sidelined Spence, locking him to the bench and pushing him completely out of tactical plans before his Spurs career even truly began. Dreaming turned into drifting, leading to three consecutive loan spells in search of self-redemption: Stade Rennais, Leeds United, and finally Genoa. In Serie A, Spence caught glimpses of his true offensive and defensive potential, yet the general consensus back in London remained: his days at Tottenham were numbered. But football always believes in second chances. Returning under Ange Postecoglou, the Australian handed him an opportunity in a cup tie. Spence seized it with a totally transformed mindset—showing strict tactical discipline and immense maturity. He convinced Ange to keep him, reinventing himself from an outcast into an essential rotation piece across both flanks, especially during crucial injury crises. He went on to lift the Europa League trophy with Spurs, fighting relentlessly on both sides of the pitch during tough times. His reward? A historic call-up to the England national team, making history as the first Muslim player to ever represent the Three Lions, completing an inspiring turnaround that was capped off by his recent World Cup appearance. Now, Spence leaves Tottenham for Inter Milan in pursuit of a guaranteed starting role. He leaves a lasting place in the hearts of most Spurs fans—except the unfair haters—whether for his relentless work rate on the pitch or his energetic, entertaining presence on social media. I’ll be backing Spence every step of the way. A player I’ll always love, whether in Spurs lilywhite or any other shirt outside of England. Best of luck, @DjedSpence! 🤍 Sterling effort and forever part of our history.

@SpursOfficial All the best, Djed.
