This summer, #YourFBI and our law enforcement partners launched Operation Summer Heat, a multi-pronged offensive to crush violent crime. Nationally, Summer Heat led to 8,629 arrests, including more than 30 fugitives wanted for murder. In addition, law enforcement identified or located 1,053 victim children and seized 44,569 kilograms of cocaine, 421 kilograms of fentanyl, and 2,281 weapons. By surging resources alongside state and local partners, executing federal warrants on violent criminals and fugitives, and dismantling violent gangs nationwide, the FBI is aggressively restoring safety in our communities across the country and around the globe.

Sanctuary politicians must condemn this violence and end the performative politics that put the American public in danger. Secretary Kristi Noem is calling on every politician at every level of government to abandon these reckless, lawless policies and stop playing Russian roulette with American lives. ICE law enforcement will continue to flood the zone in sanctuary cities and remove these criminals one by one.

In addition to hosting the first ever state tribal law enforcement training academy, I am also announcing that I am hosting the first ever Tribal Public Safety Crisis Summit in Pierre on June 24. We are inviting both elected leaders and law enforcement at the state, tribal, federal, and local level. It is my hope tribal leadership will take the opportunity to work with me to be an example of how cooperation is better for all our people.
