I can empathize with his statement of the times I was at my worst, people would have thought I was at my best. We can all do better to not only be there for those who need it, but to be kind in the first place.

This is wonderful in its heartfelt sincerity. Always love you advocating Jeff. When people ask, "he has all this why does it happen?" the answer is because he was sick. Mental illness is still chronic illness. Its just illness in our brains and we dont have enough research yet

I hope the NFL implements mandatory mental health counseling for players. Every single team can afford a counselor or psychologist on staff available for these guys on a daily basis. @dallascowboys @nflcommish @DezBryant @dak @PsychToday @TroyAikman @stephenasmith

I’m still thinking about my coworker. A good friend. I was the last person he talked to. I still think about him everyday. What could I have done better for him to not take his own life. He was a former marine but was always so sweet & positive. The last couple of weeks he said the gov was after him. We both served, so I assured him no gov was after him to take his identity. Urgh. Wish I could have known sooner to help him.

It really doesn’t. Success, status, intelligence... none of it is insulation. Look closely enough, and you’ll see that everyone is fighting a battle you never see. Compassion isn’t just kindness. It’s recognition.

Love you Jeff. I definitely didn’t need any more proof that you’re a real one, but this definitely serves as more proof.
