Not all Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas in January. Many if them, almost half, celebrate it on December 25th.

And many celebrate both. Its ok to say Merry Christmas to all of them.

@Doncata20 I am actually Greek Orthodox. I just mentioned that not the entire Orthodox world celebrates Christmas in January. We call this old style Christmas.

@Doncata20 He has a reason. Orthodoxy is not only Russian. Saying Merry Christmas to all Orthodox Christians of the Russian rite would have been the proper way to word it.

@Doncata20 Interesting, so far I've seen massive Christmas celebrations in Greece, Ethiopia, Serbia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro and not to mention many American Orthodox on the old calendar.

Ethiopian orthodox Christians also celebrated Christmas today.
