Ashley Cole on England’s World Cup semi-final elimination. 🗣️ “England have bottled it. There’s no sugar-coating this. You don’t spend years building one of the most talented squads in world football only to crumble the moment you’re asked to show courage. They gifted Argentina belief and paid the ultimate price.” “They went into their shell after taking the lead. Instead of finishing the game, they started protecting it like a small nation hanging on against a giant. That mentality is embarrassing for a team with England’s quality. Champions kill games—they don’t hide from them.” “The manager completely lost his nerve. His substitutions, his tactics, his message to the players—it all screamed fear. Sitting deeper and inviting Lionel Messi and Argentina onto you is football suicide. Everyone watching knew what was coming except the people on the England bench.” “And the players deserve criticism too. Too many disappeared. Too many hid instead of demanding the ball. When Argentina raised the intensity, England folded like a pack of cards. You cannot call yourself world-class if you vanish when your country needs you most.” “This wasn’t bad luck. This wasn’t the referee. This wasn’t fatigue. This was a complete collapse of mentality. England threw away a place in the World Cup final because they lacked the courage to keep playing football.” “If you’re satisfied with reaching the semi-finals, then keep making the same mistakes. But if you genuinely want to become world champions, performances like this should haunt every single person in that dressing room. They didn’t lose to a better team—they lost to their own fear.”

🚨 THE BIGGEST LIE IN MODERN HITTING. We’ve become a game of clones. Everyone wants the same launch angle, the same hand path, and the same “aesthetic” finish. But here is the reality: If you’re coaching every kid to move the same way, you aren’t coaching—you’re just copying and pasting. 🧩 Feel vs. Real The truth is found in who can decipher the feel vs. real for every individual player. • What a coach sees on camera (Real) is almost never what the athlete is experiencing (Feel). • If you tell a hitter to “get on plane” and they start dumping their barrels, your “correct” advice just broke their swing. 🧬 Different Bodies, Different Movements Everyone is built differently. One hitter has long levers and tight hips; another is short, explosive, and hyper-mobile. Everyone moves differently. So why on earth are we buying into ONE rigid swing philosophy? Unless that philosophy is the one that allows you to get the only intended result that matters: CONSISTENT BARRELS. 🎯 The Bottom Line Stop trying to win the “Best Looking Swing” award on Instagram. If your swing is “ugly” but you’re a barrel machine, you’re a better hitter than the kid with the “perfect” mechanics who can’t touch a high-spin heater. We need to stop chasing positions and start chasing intent. If the “feel” creates the “result,” keep it. Everything else is just noise. Stop cloning. Start competing. Love her or hate her, Caitlin Clark has changed women’s basketball forever. Argue with me. Before Caitlin, people were talking about women’s basketball. After Caitlin, people were planning their weekends around it. She didn’t just bring fans. She brought casual fans, sports fans, gambling fans, media attention, sold-out arenas, record TV ratings, jersey sales, and nonstop debate. Entire teams moved games to larger venues when she came to town because demand exploded. The numbers aren’t really up for debate. The 2024 NCAA Championship drew 18.9 million viewers, outdrawing the men’s title game. Her WNBA debut became one of the most-watched games in decades. Attendance records fell. Merchandise sales surged. Economists and analysts have credited her with generating hundreds of millions of dollars in value for women’s basketball. And here’s the part that drives some people crazy: You don’t have to think she’s the best player ever. You don’t have to think she’s the MVP. You don’t even have to like her. But pretending she hasn’t transformed the visibility, revenue, and cultural relevance of women’s basketball is like pretending Michael Jordan didn’t help grow the NBA. The strongest evidence might be this: when Clark has been sidelined, national TV audiences have dropped dramatically. Her games simply attract more viewers than anyone else’s. So go ahead. Tell me which player in women’s basketball history has had a bigger impact on attendance, ratings, merchandise sales, and mainstream attention than Caitlin Clark. I’ll wait. 🍿
