What an incredibly large-hearted and brave child he is. This little boy is not even four. In a very unfortunate incident, his hand got accidentally stuck in a machine and doctors had to chop it off. The child is Dakshesh Gupta from Jammu. When a reporter asked him what happened, the boy said - “Bhagwan wanted my hand, and I gave it”. When asked if he felt pain, the boy put up a brave front and said - “nahi, sachchi mein nahi” (not at all, I say the truth). When he saw his mother crying profusely, he became protective of her and said - “please get her water”. The mother appealed to the reporter for monetary help for the child’s surgery. After this news report posted three weeks ago went viral, support poured in. Over 20 lakh has been raised. I don’t know exactly what will doctors do now, but looks like the brave boy will be better soon. Hats off to the reporter. Lots of love and wishes for the boy. May Ishwar bless him always

Israeli soldiers were caught on CCTV executing two Palestinian men in the West Bank, shooting them in the back after they had surrendered and their arms were in the air. Israel's Haaretz newspaper straightforwardly reports the Israeli army "fatally shooting" the pair "after they had surrendered". The BBC, by contrast, dares not report what we can all see for ourselves. Its reporter says instead that the Palestinian men "appear to be surrendering" and that "the Israeli soldiers appear to open fire and shoot them dead at point-blank range". "Appear" used twice – for no reason other than to cast doubt on what is self-evident. Israel's national security minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, has lauded the soldiers for killing the two men. No matter – the BBC is so desperate not to upset Israel it reflexively throws doubt on its crimes, even when Israel itself isn't denying what took place.

🎉 The best way to start the week is to find out that our MedSAM is finally published today in Nature Communications! **Segment anything in medical images** Paper: arXiv: Data & Code: MedSAM is the first promotable foundation model for medical image segmentation. **Highlights**: ⭐ Before its formal publication, we have received 220 citations and 1400+ GitHub stars 🙏🙏❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 📊 We curated a large-scale medical image dataset with 1,570,263 image-mask pairs, covering 10 imaging modalities and over 30 cancer types. 🚀 Built on top of SAM (AI at Meta ) with transfer learning, we have significantly enhanced its segmentation performance of medical images. 📈 Comprehensive evaluations of 86 internal validation tasks and 60 external validation tasks demonstrate its better accuracy and robustness than modality-wise specialist models. **What is Next? --- Clinical Translation!!** 🍕Our next goal is to make the model deployable on laptops (CPUs) or other edge devices without reliance on GPUs. TL/DR: Tim Ballard is not doing well After all the news dropped about Ballard, I saw him at the DC airport. I went up to him to give moral support. I said “Tim Ballard” I reached out my hand, he reached back and shook mine. “It’s nice to meet you. I just want to let you know my wife and I support what you’re doing.” We had just watched his movie. His hand felt cold and clammy. His face was red and his eyes looked like a dear in headlights. “Take care.” He said nothing. Dead silent. I sensed, shortly after parting ways, he was in the wrong. I mentioned it to an exmo while my people were still debating it here on X with the exmo crowd. He is not one to support in case anyone here was wondering.
