Metacognition tutor time curriculum 🧠 This week Y7,8,9&10 will start a tutor time programme based on memory, metacognition and revision strategies. 1/7

2/7 All sessions are voice recorded for absolute clarity for all staff and students, and key learning points are consistent in all years. Sessions cover our 4 core revision strategies at Beckfoot… ▪️flash cards ▪️self quizzing ▪️mind maps ▪️brain dumps

3/7 Over the last year I have created a clear 5 step process for each revision technique, inspired by the @WALKTHRUs_5 layout.

4/7 Sessions also cover.. 🔸How memory works 🔹Time management 🔸Multi tasking 🔹Retrieval Practice 🔸Handling stress 🔹Habit creations

5/7 This year we have also incorporated oracy into the programme using bell tasks around our four 4 key revision strategies and blogs from @Inner_Drive to get students thinking and talking about their learning and learning habits.

6/7 Thank you to Lucy in @BeckfootHums for the help and ideas to help build oracy into the tutor curriculum.

7/7 Creating this has taken time, and is by no means the finish product. I will be frequenting tweaking, and updating based on research and feedback. Massive thanks to @Nikki__Sullivan and @socwarrior for the inspiration and drive to put this together 🙌🏻
