He really lived up to the name nightmare, what a pain of a fight that was.

The build up to the boss is great. I think he even flys around in the background until he is defeated.

This thing is so weird and gross... Ew! The music is so bizarre! I mean this all positively though! Nightmare was a very iconic boss in Metroid Fusion. The music really gives the vibe of "Gravity is f**ked up"

The X were such a nightmarish villain, they were very close to their inspiration of the body snatchers and probably the andromeda strain

He's called the Nightmare, but I never felt genuine dread for this dude as much as I did the SA-X.

Just about the only Metroid Title I both played and actually beat. It was a pretty good game with a ton of suspense and a low-key sci-fi horror movie vibe.

This was the first Metroid I had my own copy of. And it's probably the biggest driver for all of the Metroidvanias I have in my steam collection today. Castlevania: SoTN was my first foray into the genre as a whole tho.
