Multiple witnesses reported the suspect fled in a silver Dodge Charger, and police found Brown shot in the parking lot; he died at a nearby hospital. Officers, who had contact with Brown and the suspect minutes earlier, identified 22-year-old Alonzo Green using the Charger’s license plate number. Police arrested Green five miles away in the Red Bird neighborhood, finding blood on his shoes and the murder weapon in his vehicle. Green admitted to detectives he drove to the apartments and shot Brown, according to the arrest affidavit. A witness, who had a sexual relationship with both men, said Green and Brown had been arguing over her, fueling the motive for the shooting. Green faces murder charges and is held on a $1 million bond, with the investigation ongoing.
