Joined Arsenal FC in 2005…the FA cup final against United was the first match I actually remember watching. Broda Dayo as I like to call him, a neighbour was the one who influenced me. For context almost every other person around supported United and Chelsea but there was just something about this hilarious Egbon that made me want to choose Arsenal. We won that FA cup final then…glory to God, but little did I know that I was about to embark on an Israelites journey through the wilderness…the year after we lost champions league final, moved from Highbury, lost Thiery Henry and all our top players… The following years were a torture, we were almost there a few years after, Eduardo got that injury that derailed our season…(a season where we could have won easily) Hleb, Nasri and Fabregas tried their best but to no avail…we eventually lost these gems to bigger clubs. Being an Arsenal fan was pain after pain after pain…. Watching football wasn’t easy then btw, we had to either go to ball house and pay 30 naira or walk all the way to staff club in OAU quarters to watch football…cos where you wan see cable😭😭(and 30 naira really no be chise that year) The 2010’s came and other clubs started spending massively and the gap kept widening and widening… thus we entered our banter era…I had to get used to watching players like Denilson, Gervinho and Chiamaka 😭😭😭 The 2010s were a very terrible time…(we even lost a Carabao cup final in that period to an Obafemi Martins goal😭😭😭) I got cooked daily in Uni until we finally won that FA cup after 8 years drought 😔😔 It wasn’t enough, we still couldn’t compete with the top teams… Fast forward to 10 years later, the man who captained the team to the first trophy in 8 years has been able to rebuild this club, transformed the culture and is about to lead us to PREMIER LEAGUE AND EUROPEAN GLORY… Job’s not done yet so we gotta lock in…but it’s inevitable now. Come on you GUNNERS!!

[Part 7] The Platoon Leader role BTS V took on at boot camp: That thing people say you’ll regret doing in the military 👤V-hyungnim was our 1st platoon’s platoon leader. You can basically think of a platoon leader as the leader of the entire platoon. Since they’re the leader of the platoon, they have to be able to keep track of all the personnel in our barracks units 1, 2, and 3 and identify every single person in the platoon. Honestly, they say one of the roles you shouldn't take on in the military camp is the platoon leader position which V hyung did because compared to ordinary soldiers, there’s so much more work to do. Seriously! They have to comfort and take care of the other soldiers, have to lead us along, and basically become a leader. Every morning, since we enlisted during the height of winter season, outside was seriously… wow, maybe minus 10 degrees or something. It was so cold in the mornings. So every morning, V hyungnim would turn around sharply at the front: 🐯Report! 👤Report! Salute! *V hyung accepts the salute* 👤1st Platoon, 3rd Squad, reporting morning roll call. Total personnel 8, present personnel 8. Morning roll call preparation complete! 🐯At ease! Then if he said ‘At ease,’ I’d also snap into the at-ease position, and every morning we’d check attendance like that. V-hyung was really kind. Really kind and also a very positive person. So if the guys perhaps got into any trouble, he would always step in, try to solve by explaining like, "If you do something like so and so, there will be a problem." and guided us in a good direction. He was a genuinely good person. V-hyungnim is definitely someone who is both a life coach and a great senior because he is experienced in life and is very broad-minded, so he really sees through things well👍👍 (
