"Shout" was written by Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley, Claude Forbes, Samuel Hoskins, Carmen Lampson, and Roy Hamilton, and produced for "Invincible." “Shout" was replaced by "You Are My Life" just weeks before the album's release and didn't appear until a few months later on the B-side of the single "Cry."
