KD on seeing Kobe score 81 points: "This is the greatest player I ever seen."🐐 "[Kobe] strived so hard to be Michael Jordan. When I go back and I look at his videos and I say to myself, ‘Damn he was better than Michael Jordan.’” - Scottie Pippen Phil Jackson : Kobe Is More Skilled Than Jordan. Greatest PLAYER Ever in the history of NBA!🔥🔥 Dwyane Wade: Jordan is the best for this game, but Kobe is the master. Chris Bosh: I knew Kobe, but I didn't know him. Played basketball against him. He's the best player ever, and he was almost untouchable. Kyrie Irving: When I say [Kobe is] the greatest to play this game, it doesn’t mean I’m knocking anybody else, all right? The greatest to play this game to me! I don’t give a f*** what you talking about. I don’t care about your stats.” Anthony Davis: Kobe and MJ are the two greatest players of all-time. Kevin Durant: Kobe Bryant is the greatest of all time. His skill is second to none. Him and Michael Jordan are neck and neck as far as skill. Dirk Nowitzki: His skill level was unbelievable. There was not one shot he didn’t have in his repertoire. So, to me, in my 20 years, he was probably the best offensive or the best player I’ve seen/faced. Tony Allen: He pushed me past my limits, and I did the same to him. To me, that's what makes him the greatest. Steve Smith NBA: [Kobe] was the most fundamentally sound player that I've seen play. #GregAnthony: Kobe Bryant is the most complete basketball player the game has ever seen. Tony Parker: Maybe the closest to Michael Jordan, who I think is the best ever. #MattBarnes: Jordan is 1, and Kobe is 1B. Jamal Crawford: There's no list I will ever respect if Kobe Bryant isn't top 5. Klay Thompson: He's the greatest in my eyes. He is the reason I play today. Nate Robinson: Kobe, in my opinion, is second to MJ as the most complete player ever. Metta World Peace: There are legends, then there are guys who are in a class of their own. Kobe is in a class of his own. #WaltFrazier: Players see him as the biggest icon in basketball, and he deserves it. Mike knows that. Isaiah Thomas: I'm still a Kobe guy when it comes to the GOAT conversation. #KenyonMartin: [In] my 15 years of playing basketball, Kobe Bryant was the best basketball player in the National Basketball Association." Dwight Howard: "Everything Michael Jordan did, Kobe did better." Kevin Durant: "Kobe is the Greatest of all time. His skill is second to none. Him and Michael Jordan are 1A, 1B as far as skill." Shannon Brown: "Kobe is the best of all time. He comes first before Jordan." Brandon Jennings: "Jordan never win a championship without Pippen. Kobe won 2 without all time great teammates. Kobe is the GOAT."If you want stats, look for LeBron. If you want rings, look for Russell. If you want MVPs, look for Kareem. If you want records, look for Wilt. If you want impact, look for Steph. If you want dominance in a position, look for Shaq. If you want perimeter defense, find Gary Payton. If you want athletics, find Kemp, Giannis or Malone. If you want greatness, look for Bird or Magic. If you want exquisite dunks, look for Carter, Dr. J or Wilkins. If you want a good Trash Talker, look for Garnett. If you want influence, look for Iverson. If you want remarkable scoring skills, look for Durant. If you want competitiveness, look for Michael. Mike Brown says the best thing about Kobe Bryant was his bluntness “There were a lot of coaches that coached Kobe, around Kobe, that had a hard time because Kobe was blunt. Kobe’s going to look you in the eye and tell you what he wants to tell you.” “For me, I liked that because I felt I always knew where I stood. You never have to assume anything. If he didn’t like it, he was going to tell you. So that was, for me, the best part about him.” “Now you throw in his competitiveness and all this other stuff, and it was great. The thing that was tough was because he had won championships with Phil, and he won them a certain way.” “It was hard as a young coach to say, ‘Hey, Kobe, let’s do it this way, new style.’ He wasn’t having it. And I don’t blame him because I’d probably be the same way too if I experienced five championships doing it a certain way.”

He's as good as Michael Jordan on any given day. I said to Bryant yesterday,, 'it's almost like Larry Holmes and Muhammad Ali.' He looked at me and said, 'I'm not Larry Holmes.' And he is 100% right. It is two Muhammad Ali's when you talk about Jordan and Bryant." Grant Taylor (B/R 2011): "Players that come to mind are Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan. Matt Barnes: "To me, Jordan is 1 and Kobe is 1B." Phil Jackson on who he'd pick to start a team with between Kobe and Jordan: “I’d do a coin flip and whichever one came up heads or tails, I would take that person.”

.kuz credits his mentor Kobe Bryant with helping him get his start in investing. "Kobe Bryant was a really good mentor for me. He had a fund right before he passed away, and he told me to get into it. I think that was my very first access to the VC and tech space." "We can only play basketball for a certain amount of time, and you got to make it count. But afterwards, you got like 40-50 years to still live. So what else are you going to do? Because that money doesn't last forever."

Arn Tellem discusses how he got Kobe Bryant to the Lakers in the 1996 NBA Draft "We had the secret workouts and Jerry (West) said he wanted him and he loved him... but he didn't have the high draft pick... and New Jersey was the one team that was gonna take him... The day before the draft, Jerry finally called me and said 'I can get the 13th pick'.... I'll never forget that meeting with Kobe and Joe Bryant in his hotel room and Kobe pulled me down and he said 'I wanna be a Laker, that's why I hired you, get me to the Lakers' and I knew if we could get him past New Jersey he'd fall to 13 cause I didn't let any of those teams (9-12) see him."

Shaquille O'Neal says Penny Hardaway was Kobe Bryant before Kobe Bryant “Penny, because of you, I have to curse so many little kids out. They ask me all the time, ‘Who's better, Penny or Kobe?’ I always say Penny was Kobe before Kobe” “The kids before this social media era, they act like they don't understand what I'm telling. I have to tell them, ‘Do you have Google? Look and see who Penny was’” “Remember, Penny came in day one like this. Kobe first year didn't start. Second year didn't start. Third year upstairs saying, ‘Okay, hey, it's time for him to play.’ Then he started, took him 600 to 900 days to become the Black Mamba. Penny came in Penny” “I have to explain that to them all the time. I always want to give you your love. I'm always going to give you your props. I'm always going to remind these little dumb kids what greatness is all about”

Dee: "And then he's saying that he thinks Taylor can win, and look guys if it's Taylor and Drew, I'm voting for Drew to win, obviously, that's my little weasel. But I'm not gonna tell him that. I'm gonna scare his ass and make him think that he can lose next to Taylor..." "...So I keep saying 'The only way that I would not be okay is if I lose next to Taylor. I want to lose next to you or Devens.' But I've been telling him this the past few days, before HOH, before Veto. I said 'The only way I'll be okay is if I lose next to you or Devens, not Taylor because that's embarrassing.' Right, that's what I'm telling him so that he can put himself in that position cuz if he's next to Taylor he doesn't want to lose next to Taylor. You want to lose next to me..." Gary Payton says he taught Kobe his secrets because Kobe asked him to teach him, despite knowing he would use that information against him for the rest of his career “Kobe was already different. He was a different kid. I was about 10 or 11 years into the NBA at the time, and Kobe didn’t have a fear of asking anybody how to get better.” “He came by me and was like, ‘Big bro, you be doing this and that. I really want to learn this because of you.’ When he said that, that took something in my heart. A kid with his ability, knowing where he was going, really wanted to learn, and he didn’t have an ego.” “I didn’t mind. I didn’t care about him knowing how to do it and stop it because if he knows it, it makes me better too. Because I gave him the game, now I’ve got to learn how to stop him. I’ve got to show him something else.” “It didn’t really bother me, and me and him got so tight. Especially when I went to the Lakers and was mentoring him, we got really, really tight.”

Shaq says Michael Jordan is the GOAT because he never lost in the Finals 🐐 "Mike is the greatest of all time because of how he played, how he dominated, and he never lost in the finals. So, I know a lot of people going to see this like you said and 'oh, he doing this and he do that.' I played with Kobe, I know what a killer he was, but to me as a kid and going against him, then being the only guy to beat him in the playoffs for him to retire after three and then come back and get three, yeah, he was a different animal." Novak Djokovic says Kobe Bryant taught him to stop avoiding the painful tape and to deliberately rewatch the moments that made him uncomfortable because that’s where you learn “I had a three-year period where I didn’t win a Slam. I was winning some big tournaments, but I couldn’t win a Slam. These two guys were beating me in every big match, Federer and Nadal.” “I changed rackets, team members. I did everything I could to find the right formula. I was struggling physically as well. I was very thorough in my analysis of the matches afterwards, even though I don’t necessarily like to watch matches that I lost.” “Kobe Bryant used to talk about this a lot. When I was talking to him personally about that, he said, even if it’s just specific intervals of the match that you lost, you definitely look at that. You need to analyze that.” “You need to go through that cramping feeling because that’s where you learn from those mistakes. That’s where you have an opportunity to rectify that the next tournament or next match. That helped a lot.”

DR JOMO SONO I gave this advice to Rulani Mokwena when he was down. ▪︎ I told him that in life you fall 7 times & rise up 8 times ▪︎ You didn't fail at Sundowns. The club decided to release you. ▪︎ Don't be distracted by negativity: Look at your CV everytime. Put it up on your wall. Look at what you have achieved at your age. You will have a peaceful sleep. I do that. He got appointed at WAC and came back to thank me The reason why he didn't get along with Flemming Berg, according to me, it's the Lorch acquisition. He told me that he wants Lorch & Flemming doesn't want him. I said, "Fight for what you want, if you believe it's right." He did. They say he is arrogant. I don't blame me. It's in the genes. We are arrogant family. People in the streets love him. Those up in top can hate him. Truth will always bail him out. He must speak it He must keep his head high & leave a legacy in Morocco

Cheesy but I see Markiplier as a hero in a way. He's grown so much as a person and yet you can tell that he truly believes what he stands for, he's been saying it for years. The way he believes so much in himself makes you want to believe in yourself too. I wanna be like him.

Derrick Rose says becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history came with regret, and explains for 3 years he barely went out, saw friends, watched movies or took vacations because he thought that’s what kobe did and that's what it took to be great “I didn’t enjoy anything, bro. I didn’t go out to eat with family, with friends like that. No movies like that. None of that. No concerts.” “Because I was totally locked in to thinking that I had to follow what Kobe was doing. Thinking Kobe was not enjoying himself, not going on vacations, not doing any of that. So I felt tricked in a way.” “My fourth year, I ended up going to the Philippines with him. I saw him relax. I’m like, ‘Oh, you was tricking me the whole time.’ I dedicated three years, three years, thinking you didn’t do shit.” “To see you actually out here just chilling, it kind of fucked me up. But I couldn’t take it personally because he didn’t even know I was admiring him like that.”

Miles Teller says Kobe Bryant watched Whiplash, told him he made Muse “for people like us,” then gave him his cell number “Kobe watched Whiplash, and I tweeted, ‘Kobe Bryant talking about Whiplash in GQ just made my life’s highlight. Within a couple minutes or hours, Kobe started following me” “I messaged him that I’d watched Muse and related to it. Kobe responded immediately: ‘Miles, I made that movie for people like us. Wanting to be great shouldn’t be looked at as a negative. I just have high expectations for myself’” “The fact that after seeing one of my movies he said ‘us’ this is Kobe Bryant putting me and him in the same camp. Then he said, ‘Here’s my cell phone,’ and we started texting”
