And I think that the easy thing to say is 'poor me.' But it's like, I still have a fantastic life, a great family. A lot of people go through tragedies. While what happened with my family in the offseason was highly publicized, there's probably tons of those stories of crewmembers that happened in their family this offseason, that happens to them during the season that no one really knows about. "So everyone kind of has their times where they have to go through tough moments. And I think that those are really kind of building moments of your character. It's how you respond to it. "I think this season for me could certainly go one of two ways. And I think there's not much of a middle road - It's gonna go really one way or really the other way. And it's up to me which way I decide to turn. "I think that right now, my focus is on keeping this thing on the right track and making sure I spend these last couple of years accomplishing everything that I want to before my career is over."

"honestly, i don't think i'm very good at letting (my characters) go. once i take on a project, i end up doing it for about 8 to 10 months, and i feel like my way of speaking and habits from that time remain a bit. so even after a project wraps up, that character actually stays with me for a while. but when that happens, i try as much as possible not to do the things that the character used to do for 8 months. for example like a certain posture or things like that. and then i cut my hair from when i played that character to try and see a different image of myself too. but honestly, even if i cut my hair, that character doesn't really go away. so for me, honestly, rather than saying 'i'm letting them go', i just always cherish them and no matter what project i do in the future, i feel like there will still be moments where i think of that character. since i consider (those) moments to be a part of who i am too, i actually really like seeing those moments keep piling up within me."

And on top of that, when we started touring, it was 2021, so it was kind of like still depths of the pandemic. We were like one of the first tours to go back out. So I think that tour started in that way where it was like, I was really bubbled up even kind of within the tour. And then staying on that tour, we put an album out and it ended up being like two and a half years type time. It's just a long time to be in like a bubble where you're not really spending that much time like in the world around you, other than shows and hotels and stuff. And when I finished, I kind of went off and was spending a lot of time in Italy, and was kind of like having this quiet time, and I was just feeling a lot of my life as I was kind of like, craving like quiet and kind of like private spaces. I was just feeling myself kind of like shut out a lot of the world, โ€œI think, and I think the last couple of years for me was about, you know, there's a lot of things that I think I got used to saying no to, like invites from friends and like maybe a weekend trip or like a birthday party or something. I think I just got used to, you know, if I have a week at home, I don't want to go somewhere else for three days. I just want to stay home, you know. And I think when I got to Italy and was kind of out in this quiet place, I felt like, okay, if I'm going to spend all this time out here and I'm going to keep saying no to everything, I'm just going to like shut myself off from the world. And while parts of that sound appealing, I also like, I love people and I love like being in the world, you know, so it was kind of, I think for me, like there's been both the thing of like learning to set boundaries and stuff is a large part of that has also been learning when not to set boundaries and when to open up. I love books, and I'm an avid reader, but I just have a hard time because of the way that I perceive. And also the way the system was designed, sort of not to support me when I was in high school at that time. "It was very difficult, you know, there was a lot of, you know, just, difficulty. My English teacher in high school was worried about what my career would be, and I'm like. He would be happy to know that I'm in the Writers Guild of America now. "But, I think that that all those things are, they're all... you can transcend all those things with perseverance and with interest and with with help. And I think that that's an important part of it. "And I just think I've had to adapt, and sort of... I have my own style of the way I write, I write all, you know, but I'm pretty prolific. And I love- I listen to tons of audio books on tape, unabridged hours and hours and hours. That's all I do when I'm driving in the car or wherever I'm doing. And it's helped me a lot.
