I met with World Central Kitchen to thank them for their support to Jamaica and our people. Over 75 days, nearly 700 persons worked daily to prepare and distribute approximately 6.6 million meals. A significant part of this effort involved Jamaicans cooking for Jamaicans. The food was prepared with care and respect for our culture, providing nourishment and also comfort and dignity to families affected by hurricane Melissa. My sincere appreciation to World Central Kitchen for their partnership, professionalism, and care.

Israel does not deliberately target civilians, but Hamas does intentionally hide and operate in civilian areas, endangering innocent lives. Yesterday, tragically, seven aid workers from World Central Kitchen were accidentally killed in an airstrike. After October 7th, World Central Kitchen was among the first responders, providing aid to Israelis affected by Hamas's attacks. Since then, they've extended their support to the people in Gaza as well. Israel immediately took responsibility and initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Additionally, they are collaborating with representatives from World Central Kitchen and the governments of the foreign nationals involved. It was a devastating accident, and Israel, like the rest of the world, mourns this loss of life.

John is in Tallahassee, where WCK teams are preparing to provide nourishing meals to communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. As soon as the storm passes and it is safe to travel tomorrow, we will start scouting with sandwiches and determine which areas are most heavily affected and need our support. #ChefsForFlorida
