#MichelleYeoh. What's the hype Malaysians? 🤔

Still, there is a lot to be proud of Michelle Yeoh. She is a Malaysian. She proves that Malaysians can achieve whatever they set out to do even when Malaysia gives no support. Irrespective of her race, religion or political alignment, she made Malaysia proud.

I'm not putting down her success. I'm questioning why Malaysians don't think how and why she succeeded. To see politicians joining her glory is sickening to me as they've no intention to change things.

Does this mean Malaysians shouldn't be excited abt Datuk Nicol David's achievements too? After all, she was based in Europe most of the time when she dominated the sport. She also was spending most of her time playing overseas barring 1 or 2 tournaments in MY.

Agreed. Sometimes we Malaysian celebrate something without thinking why we do that. Maybe because we have less to celebrate.

Exactly! Don’t get it why our politicians are cheering, well she made her success outside Malaysia. They should help women back home rise higher. Don’t get me wrong, I am super inspired by Michelle, being another fellow Malaysian abroad, although heart is always in tanahairku

Don’t see anything wrong for Malaysians to be proud & happy of her achievement. We are celebrating her win in the Best Actress category, the 1st Asian to do so. Has she denounced her citizenship? Just because she doesn’t stay in Malaysia, we can’t celebrate?
