Now THIS is why voters should research candidates before November. And this wasn’t uncovered by some right-wing blog—CNN’s KFile found the deleted posts. William Lawrence previously advocated a world without police and prisons, open migration, abolishing the Senate, forced nationalization of fossil-fuel companies and ending coal. He called the nuclear-family home an “isolating, individualistic, violent” way of organizing society. During the Joe Manchin/Build Back Better fight, he even posted lyrics telling an older generation of Democrats to “hurry up and die.” Lawrence now says he doesn’t support some of those positions anymore. Fair enough—people can change their minds. But voters have every right to ask when he changed his mind, why he changed it and which of his old positions he still believes. Here’s what’s different in 2026: voters have AI and other research tools. Deleting hundreds of old posts doesn’t delete the record. We can research what candidates said yesterday, compare it with what they’re promising today, and decide for ourselves whether the change is genuine or election-year remodeling.
