100% that humanity has depth of qualia, whilst AI (currently) only has breadth and no qualia. I have come to believe that the biggest benefit of AI will be that humanity will find itself again. Ubuntu - that I can only be truly whole when you too are whole. The question that heals the land and reveals the grail has always been the same... "what ails thee?" We will hopefully soon finally discover how and why life was designed i.e. we experience the greatest peace and joy when we connect and care for other people / animals / earth etc. While we only experience a deep emptiness when we chase the trinkets of the gilded cage.

Art will continue to have value, and encouraging people to follow thier artistic desires is positive. AI is here though and enables other art -- I have a YT channel of satire/humor songs that I mostly create with Suno and Canva and ChatGPT - if I didn't have those tools, 0% of that 'art' would exist, I don't have time or inclination to do it the old fashioned way. Similarly, ideate and delegate is a strong skill to have - you enable making stuff from the skill of having an idea. I'm past my kid days, mine are 30 and 28 off adulting, I encourage them both to learn and use AI; not sure if my perspective would be different if they were still 8 and 10, but I still would be leaning toward encouragement.

I appreciate the thoughts on the over reactive parent. I originally viewed him very negatively (more for how it was handled and less for his views), so I am better understanding him now. I was the parent that my kids didn't even have a phone until they were 16 (they thought we were the worst because of that). It is somewhere in between, but man has a problem about being extreme with everything.
