Back in the early-2000s when the Cola wars were in vogue, Pepsi first retorted to Coca-Cola's 'Thanda Matlab Coca-Cola' (starring Aamir Khan who recently credited someone other than the person who is often credited for that slogan: with a campaign where Fardeen Khan, who is seen running an empty stall says, 'Business Thanda Matlab, Cola Cola'. While that ad has vanished off the internet, there is another variant in that series that still exists. In this ad featuring Rahul Khanna and Fardeen Khan, the latter uses Coca-Cola's slogan of that time verbatim - 'Life ho toh aisi'. But the context in which he utters is meant as a direct attack on Coca-Cola. Even his t-shirt has that fake brand (Cola-Cola, also in the shop's sign board) in the cola's signature red! Compared to such direct attacks, the Cola wars (there was one recently, around 'half time) now seem tame. It's good in a way, though - less people need to drink (naturally or artificially) sugared carbonated drinks anyway, given that they are horribly unhealthy. The restaurant owner who told Coca-Cola execs to kick rocks and I believe they had it coming! Guy gets a massive soda fountain that can run BOTH Coke AND Pepsi. Coke VPs came in for lunch and lose their minds that customers had a CHOICE. They berated him for it. So he immediately rips out the Coke, hands them their bags, and says ‘Y’all can take this with you.’ Now it’s Pepsi only. This man is not afraid of completion and Coca-Cola lost his business!

They want to know what sorts of sweetener are being used for each and how much of that sweetener is in each of them. So they gather a bunch of soft drinks including a Mexican Coca-Cola and an American Coca-Cola, and do all of their testing. What they find is that the Mexican Coca-Cola actually has no sucrose in it, meaning sugar. All they find in this is glucose and fructose, the elements that are used to build high fructose corn syrup. — They found no sugar. They only found the elements for high fructose corn syrup” Okay this sounds really crazy, so I looked into what’s actually happening Coke is highly acidic with phosphoric acid. Sucrose, which is cane sugar, hydrolyzes (breaks down) very quickly in acidic conditions into glucose + fructose By the time the bottle reaches you, especially after shipping, storage, and sitting on shelves, most or all of the sucrose has already inverted That’s why the study found almost zero intact sucrose Recent lab tests confirmed Mexican Coke starts with cane sugar but ends up with ~97% inverted by the time it’s tested So you are literally paying more for nothing So it’s technically not a lie, but it’s also incredibly misleading too
