This is done on an unexpected traffic which they can depreciate your portal or redirect you to a fake login page if you are a primary target. If you’re sending sensitive information: • Use your phone as hotspot • Use a trusted private Wi-Fi • Avoid public networks and forget them when done with it. . If the page looks real or depreciating to HTTP, look again.

The hotel’s Wi-Fi in Montana that I’m staying at today was absolute trash… so I decided to do something different. I parked my Cybertruck equipped with Starlink right outside my hotel room and connected to it instead. The difference wasn’t even close. Hotel Wi-Fi: • 13.7 Mbps download • 13.8 Mbps upload Starlink: • 121 Mbps download • 28 Mbps upload • 45 ms latency That’s about 9x faster download speeds and 2x faster upload speeds than the entire hotel’s Wi-Fi. This is exactly why I never travel without Starlink. Meanwhile, my computer is connected to the hotel Wi-Fi, and the difference is honestly ridiculous. You can see the speed test for yourself. It’s 2026. There is no reason hotel Wi-Fi should still be this bad. After traveling around the U.S., I’ve realized just how many hotels still have slow, unreliable internet.
