🚨UPDATE: This corn kernel is going to make a full recovery. Robot Doctors say 1-2 months of rehab and this corn will back out there. This is great news.

This surgical assistance robot was developed by #Sony.

Do you realize how many 100 hr+ per week hard working surgeons in training are having panic attacks right now? According to Elon, humanoid robots will soon outperform the best surgeons...at scale! When asked if it was now pointless to go to medical school, he said "Yes".

Listen up. #Sony is a Japanese company.

Surgical robots are not autonomous. They are valuable extensions of the surgeons own hands, who controls the surgical arms from a console. Most importantly, hand tremor is eliminated, surgeon fatigue is reduced, and precision is also increased, but the surgeon is still in control

Wow. I don’t think there are many surgeons that could do this.

Imagine this level of accuracy applied to life-saving surgery. We're just scratching the surface.

This is next-level insane precision 😱🤖 Fun fact: These microsurgery robots can stitch at sub-millimeter accuracy (down to 0.1 mm or less)-they're already used in eye, brain, and vascular surgeries where human hands shake too much!

Bro… a robot just stitched a corn kernel like it’s open-heart surgery 😳🌽 Millimeter-level precision? That’s not engineering, that’s wizardry with a scalpel ✨🤯

Has no one asked how that corn got injured? Was it spousal abuse? Did it legitimately fall down the stairs as it stated? I’m glad it was helped but, we need an investigation into this corn’s spouse.

It's real - see the article posted on the Sony site. No, it doesn't replace the surgeon, it's a remote robotic manipulator that scales down the surgeon's movements: "The robot system mainly consists of a tabletop console operated by the surgeon and a robot performing procedures on the patient. The movements of the surgeon’s hands on the console are replicated at a reduced scale of about 1/2 to 1/10 at the tip of the robot arm’s surgical instrument." Regarding no one needing to go to med school any more -- that's Elon Musk B.S. Not going to happen. Would YOU trust your innards to an AI surgeon operating without a human surgeon's oversight and control?
