He could’ve just let the pitch to & the run would’ve scored on a wild pitch ..
Silly to actually bunt, but so wild that he actually THREW the bat at the ball....
Catcher aint catching that anyway, all he did was get himself out
He understood the assignment, his man was coming down the line and he wasn't going to hang him out to dry. In hindsight he probably should have let the pitch go, but in the moment it is so hard to make that call and he protected his runner.
Would have been better to just let the pitch go. Runner would have scored on the WP and he would not be out and still have a chance to hit.
When coach says get the bunt down you get. The. Bunt. Down.

Tie game, bottom of the 7th. I was catching, other team pulled off a squeeze to win the game. Our pitcher fielded the bunt and flipped the ball to me but kept running towards the plate and kneed the runner right in the ribs out of frustration. Chaos ensued after that haha
Yeah but…. They coulda had a run and 0 outs with the passed ball…
