These are the runways at O'hare airport in Chicago. They rotate and it's always parallel with 2 runways going at once.

This video is of planes landing on 28L (Alaska plane) and 28R (United plane) at San Francisco international airport. The runways are 750 feet apart. There are special procedures for landing on these runways. The plane landing on 28R flies an offset approach and the planes only get close to each other when they are on short final and have verified they have the other airplane in sight.
