The welfare state was designed as a national safety net for British taxpayers when times get tough. It was never intended to be an international benefit system for the rest of the world. Over 1.3 million foreign nationals are now claiming Universal Credit in Britain, with the bill set to skyrocket further by the end of the decade. We are an utter outlier compared to other nations that quite rightly restrict non-contributory welfare to their own citizens. If you come to Britain, you should be expected to support yourself and your family — simple as that. The current model is completely unsustainable and grossly unfair to the hard-working taxpayers footing the bill.

No! If you are a foreigner, you should not get a single penny in welfare paid for by the hard-pressed British taxpayer. Right now, foreign nationals are handed out an eyewatering billion pounds every month in universal credit - 15% of all UC spend. Benefits-Britain is broken.

Universal Credit should be reserved for UK citizens only. This is about fairness, responsibility and protecting support for those who’ve contributed to this country. We’re calling on Keir Starmer to stop the drift and take action. British taxpayers deserve a system that prioritises them, not one that continues to fund an unsustainable open-door policy. British taxpayers should not be working hard to subsidise immigrants many of whom are only recently arrived.

This is excellent from Zia Yusuf. He perfectly captured the farcical and shameful situation now facing honest, hard-working Brits. In Stoke Heath, Shropshire, brand new £250,000 homes built for local families are being handed to asylum seekers while residents were kept completely in the dark. Standing in front of the properties, he delivered this devastating mockery of Britain’s broken social contract: “This is ground zero of the British social contract. The message to the British people now is extraordinary: if you work hard, pay your taxes and play by the rules, one day you’ll get to fund foreign nationals who broke into Britain illegally living in quarter-of-a-million-pound brand new houses. That is now the social contract.” Brutally accurate. The reward for playing by the rules is now footing the bill for those who don’t. This is the reality for hard-working Brits today.
