Don't fall for misinformation around Ireland's Asylum & Refugee System. Here are the facts: Ireland is the only country in the world where White Europeans are the biggest cohort of 'Asylum Seekers'. By the end of 2024, we'll have spent over €7b since 2021 on just paying and housing Ukrainians and housing 'asylum seekers'. In 2019, Ireland had the lowest refusal rates on asylum application in the EU. We had the same refusal rate in 2022. In 2022, Ireland received 50% of all applications from Zimbabwe and the most Algerian applications in the world. Of the top 10 origin countries in Ireland's asylum seeker populations, 5 of them are listed as 'safe' by Helen McEntee. Our top 3 populations are Georgia, Nigeria and Algeria. All listed as 'safe' countries except Nigeria. The UK lists Nigeria and 'safe' for men. The Georgian Government has twice told Ireland that they are economic migrants and not asylum seekers. Roderic O'Gorman tweeted in Georgian, while Georgia was listed as a safe country, and advertised our 'own-door' program for Asylum in Ireland. In 2017, we rejected 100% of Georgian asylum claims.
