It’s also unfortunate that Pam Bondi seems to believe that the DOJ is the personal attorney for the President of the United States, rather than serving the interests of America, the rule of law, and our democracy. Murphy: I guess I appreciate a handful of Republicans offering mild criticism, but come on, there is nothing heroic in any of that. They had an opportunity when Trump put up for nomination for key posts at the DOJ individuals who were not going to preserve the Independence…. They had the opportunity to oppose them, and they didn't. They confirmed people like Pam Bondi, people like Jeanine Pirro, knowing that his intent was to sic the department of justice on his political opponents. And you are watching the disintegration of our democracy in front of our eyes. And if Republicans continue to offer milquetoast criticism and do nothing practical about it, they may rue that day. Our democracy may not survive until the next presidential election.

Because at the same time, we are opening Pandora’s box and allowing a lot of hate speech on these platforms and social media. We are too weak and too naive. And we should ask these platforms, first, to completely block bots. We have to be sure there is one single person with one account. If this is an AI system, if this is bought and organized by a big organization, it should simply be forbidden. We need transparency of the algorithm. We are a democracy.
