The Duffers: "El had to go for our characters to move on." And Mike says that even years later he will never forget her and believes she is alive. At least he deserved to know that clearly. He will never get over it and will wait for her in Hawkins. They don't even know how they wrote Mike. Never tell me that he'll move on and get over it.
