I [told him], ‘Listen, you’re the guy that we wanted to play this position and we can’t wait to watch you continue to play, improve, and get better.’ We have a lot of guys that are 21, 22, 23 years old. They found a right guard in Puni that I think is going to be around for a while. But you’re going to have to find likely another center. I’m not sure Brendel is the answer long term. You’re probably going to have to find another left guard to compete at that spot. MPJ says he thinks he’d need a little bit of help next to him, hinting a co-star and said he’s talked to the Nets front office about the improvements the organization can make this offseason: “I’ve talked to the front office… I think we’re going to get a good draft pick and then we got the most money in the NBA to get a really good playmaking 2-guard or point guard.”
