Back in April 2024, Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé said there was “no guarantee” Sacramento would land an expansion franchise simply by hosting the A’s at Sutter Health Park for three seasons. “You know, we have to show what we can do.” Ranadivé also laid out his long-term vision for the region: “In the long term, I’d like this to be a place with a permanent MLB team and other teams.”
