I can’t stand people who talk and have no clue what they’re talking about! Congress at the time told Obama that whatever he wants to do, they will block it. Learn the branches of govt 🙄🤦🏽‍♂️

You are not the president of a single group of people. That is the first point. Additionally, the Obama administration is one reason you have the Affordable Care Act and healthcare options. Please do your research before coming on X and making statements like that.

Things Obama did for black Americans Barack Obama’s presidency had a complex impact on Black Americans, achieving some key successes while also facing criticism that he didn’t do enough to address specific issues of racial inequality. Here’s a look at some of the major ways his administration addressed or influenced matters concerning Black Americans: 1. Healthcare Reform •Affordable Care Act (ACA): The ACA, also known as “Obamacare,” was one of Obama’s signature achievements. It significantly reduced the uninsured rate among Black Americans. By expanding Medicaid and providing subsidies for private health insurance, the ACA helped millions of low-income Americans, disproportionately benefiting Black individuals who were more likely to be uninsured. 2. Criminal Justice Reform •Fair Sentencing Act (2010): This law reduced the sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine, which disproportionately affected Black Americans due to harsher penalties on crack offenses. This change was part of a broader effort to address racial inequities in the criminal justice system. •Promoted Policing Reform: The Obama administration introduced guidelines to reduce police violence and launched investigations into police departments accused of racial profiling and brutality. The Department of Justice under Obama issued consent decrees to reform some of the most problematic departments. 3. Economic Opportunities and Support for Education •My Brother’s Keeper Initiative: Launched in 2014, this initiative aimed to address opportunity gaps faced by young men of color. It focused on mentorship, career training, and providing educational support, though it primarily served as a framework for local and private sector efforts. •Increased Funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): Obama advocated for additional funding to support HBCUs, though some felt he could have done more in this area. 4. Housing Initiatives •Responses to the Housing Crisis: The administration worked to address the housing foreclosure crisis, which had hit Black and Hispanic homeowners particularly hard. Programs such as the Making Home Affordable program helped many families avoid foreclosure, though some critics argued the response wasn’t strong enough to fully address racial disparities in homeownership. 5. Addressing Civil Rights Issues •Support for Marriage Equality and LGBT Rights: Although not directly tied to race, Obama’s support for LGBT rights, including marriage equality, was significant in the Black community, which has a strong LGBTQ presence. •Encouraging Conversations on Race: While in office, Obama frequently spoke about issues of race and the persistence of racism in American life. His comments after incidents like the Trayvon Martin case helped spark national dialogues on systemic racism and police brutality. 6. Symbolic Impact •Role Model and Cultural Impact: Obama’s presence in the White House itself served as a historic symbol, inspiring countless Black Americans and changing perceptions globally. His election demonstrated that it was possible for a Black person to reach the nation’s highest office, creating a powerful narrative shift. In retrospect, Obama’s presidency helped drive certain changes and sparked conversations around race, though the limitations of his reforms are also a reminder of the complex and deeply-rooted nature of racial inequality in America.

Vote or die is the big lie. We vote; yet we still die. It’s the proverbial pie in the sky. We have to die to get a slice of that “sweet potato pie.” 🥧 Don’t be fooled.

No... this sounds about stupid... ppl always say this like BLACK PEOPLE are not a part of the LGBTQIA community... not to mention the ACA where our culture was going under insured because of preexisting conditions like asthma, diabetes, sickle cell <-- check the stats He also pulled us out of what would have been a record-breaking recession... record job growth for 70+ months... so you telling me black ppl didn't benefit from that
