NYSC is trending because Nigerians are calling on FG to scrap it for real this time. In Kano, NYSC refused to register corp members. After a while, they received "order from above" to only allow pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in. Then, they asked the rest go to back home. After travelling for miles. In Kebbi state, corpers were asked to go back home, because the portal is locked and registration is impossible until further notice. In Benue state, NYSC refused to attend to corp members for three days. Leaving them stranded. In Niger state, PCM were originally meant to go with Batch C. But they received call up letters recently, inviting them to camp with Stream II Batch B. On their arrival, NYSC told them to go back home, because they've been moved back to Stream I Batch C, due for camp around October/November. (According to multiple sources) In Adamawa state, the gate was shut for late comers. Regardless of where they came from, NYSC asked them to go back home. After navigating the unsafe conditions of the highways, and spending resources. Prospective corp members are pleading with NYSC for empathy. Meanwhile, Nigerians are asking the FG to scrap it since they can no longer organize it.

Important Takeaways from the DG Media Chat on NYSC Mobilization 1️⃣ Batch A Stream 2 (A2) corps members are expected to enter camp towards the end of April. 2️⃣ There will be NO new NYSC registration for Batch A2. Any upcoming registration will be strictly for Batch B1. 3️⃣ Only prospective corps members (PCMs) who registered in 2025 earlier will be deployed for Batch A2 camp. 4️⃣ NYSC received a waiver from NERD for those who registered in 2025. This means PCMs who already registered in 2025 do NOT need to upload NERD again, including those going for A2. 5️⃣ The next NYSC portal opening will be for Batch B1 registration, as NYSC is preparing to meet its INEC responsibilities for the 2027 elections. 6️⃣ Institutions have been allowed to upload graduation lists to help speed up preparation for Batch B1 mobilization. 7️⃣ Registration for Batch B1 may happen while A2 are in camp or immediately after A2 camp ends. 8️⃣ PCMs preparing for Batch B1 must upload their NERD, as mandated by the government. Governor A. A. Sule, while explaining in Hausa why he endorsed Sen. Wadada as the APC consensus candidate in Nasarawa State, said it was based on fairness and equity. He explained that the Lafia zone had produced governors for about 13 years, the Keffi zone for about 8 years, while his own Akwanga zone, which he is about to complete his tenure in, has also had about 8 years. Therefore, he felt it was only fair to return the governorship to the Keffi zone. He also stated that he met with all stakeholders from the Keffi zone and asked them to present one person who could win the election and succeed him. Initially, they gave him the mandate to choose any qualified person among them. After careful consideration, he concluded that Senator Wadada was the most capable of winning the election across Nasarawa State, which was why he chose him as the consensus candidate.
